Chautauqua’s lakes and streams are ideal for the serious sportsperson as well as the casual angler. Cast from shore or the dock of a cottage or vacation rental, rent a boat for the day, or charter a boat and guide service. The Chadwick Bay/Dunkirk Harbor area was recently named Walleye Capital of the Northeast and also plays host to excellent small mouth bass fishing. Chautauqua Lake boasts a renowned history for muskellunge. Trout and salmon anglers will find the spring and fall runs on the Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and 18 Mile Creeks the finest of any of the Great Lakes tributaries.
