Many of our education programs and events are either fully outdoors or contain an outdoor component. We believe that experiencing the natural world first hand is key in developing a connection to the planet.

Trails feature overlooks and photo blinds at prime birdwatching locations. The overlooks give enthusiasts the ability to look out over marshes and ponds, the latter of which are managed for migration – lowered for sandpipers in May and then raised for waterfowl and Tundra Swans in advance of autumn flyway activity.

Birdbanding and nest box programs give birders the chance to participate in wildlife management and monitoring. 

Roughly 200 unique species have been identified at the Audubon Community Nature Center, which is home to an especially large population of Blue Birds, Rails, Soras plus nesting pairs of Bald Eagles.

The Audubon Community Nature Center has a variety of space available to rent for meetings, weddings, and special events of all kinds. With both indoor and outdoor space, planners can unleash their creative side deciding how to utilize the facility. There are several multipurpose rooms that can accommodate up to 100 people and the outdoor Stephanie Frucella Education Pavilion can host 100+. The Nature Center has 100 chairs and 15 folding tables that are included with rentals for your use. Card tables and a podium are also available. Additional add on services such as audio/video, table settings, and use of kitchen facility is available at added cost.
