A visit to Cadwell’s Cheese House in Dewittville, NY is a stop on the “Nostalgia Trail”. Many customers have been shopping here for generations! In 1927, Ford Cadwell began making his full cream dairy cheese in a small block building on the family farm. Today, Cadwell’s Cheese House is owned and operated by Jane Currie, Ford’s stepdaughter. There are over 30 kinds of imported and domestic cheeses for sale and sample including cheese curd, New York Sharp Cheddar, and the very popular horseradish cheese spread.
Other local products available for purchase include maple syrup, honey, a line of confections and nuts from The Basket Company, Borsari seasoning salts, chutney, and Bloody Mary mix, Amish jams, relishes, and more. The gift shop also has select antiques, English bone china, photo cards, and cookbooks for patrons to peruse.
