Located in northwestern Chautauqua County, Chautauqua Creek flows north from its rural beginnings, beyond Chautauqua Gorge State Forest, past Westfield, and into Lake Erie.
You'll find migratory rainbow trout called "steelhead" in great numbers from October through April. Anglers fish steelhead using a spinning rod and reel combo, float fishing, or fly fishing. Read some tips from the DEC.
Abundant brown trout and smallmouth bass also make up the waterway, and you'll enjoy nearly 9 miles of public fishing spots.
