Chautauqua Township Historical Society
Depot Museum

Thousands of artifacts and documents representing all aspects of our area's rich and varied past, located in an old Pennsylvania Railroad Depot. The 1871 Building was replaced in 1925 in a prominent spot on the shoreline at the head of beautiful Lake Chautauqua, close to one end of the historic "Portage Trail" used by Native Americans and later by French explorers and soldiers. A trolley stop by the Chautauqua Traction Company from around 1906 to 1926. Notable visitors ("passers through") included Harry Houdini, President Franklin Roosevelt and the Liberty Bell, among others.

Open Memorial Day-Labor Day Fri, Sat, Sun 1-5pm, $1.00 donation appreciated.
