The south town line is the border with Pennsylvania (Warren County). To the east is the Town of Carroll, and to the west is the Town of Busti. To the North is the City of Jamestown and the Town of Ellicott.
Kiantone was a derivative of the Seneca work kyenthone, meaning roughly - - a level place for growing corn. Through the years, Kiantone made its name as a mill town, with settlers either coming up the Allegany River from Pittsburgh or overland from Buffalo.
Audubon Community Nature Center is located within the town.
