Lawson Center Boat Museum

The Lawson Center Boat Museum is open seasonally, showcasing Chautauqua Lake's boating history. Interesting and fun displays and events for the whole family. Special tours available by appointment. Also available for private parties.

Children's activities at the Lawson Center include driving a 1940s race boat simulator, taking the helm of a cruiser, playing captain and crew of a real cat boat, a Junior Mate puzzle book and scavenger hunt, building a balloon-powered boat, and more. 

Learn about antique and classic boats, outboard and inboard motors, view photo displays from the 1800s and early 1900s as well as artifacts from the Chautauqua Lake age of steam. Read about the current exhibits at the Lawson Center. See and hear more about each exhibit using QR codes, and enjoy easy-to-use interactive kiosks to access information about the Chautauqua Lake area.
