Since it was established in 1879, Lily Dale has been the world’s largest center for spiritual development and the practice of the Spiritualist religion. The world-renowned summer program hosts lectures, workshops, and other activities featuring best-selling authors, leaders in academic and scientific research into psychic phenomena, as well as the world’s most powerful mediums, teachers and healers. For groups interested in religious experiences, mediums, tarot readings, and alternative medicine, Lily Dale Assembly is a Spiritualist residential community that holds a summer season of programming that can include anything from paranormal investigators, Tibetan monks, or musical performances on their main stage. Other events during their season include a Crafts Funfestival and Car Show, various workshops, and weekly services including healing and church services.
The Lily Dale Museum is open from late June to the beginning of September, and by appointment throughout the rest of the year. Set in an old school house, its home to photos, artifacts, and memorabilia from the beginning of the Spiritualist movement. Their Susan B. Anthony women's suffrage display has been noted as one of the best in the country. The Marion H. Skidmore Library contains the largest collection of Spiritualist books in the world. The Maplewood Hotel will accommodate most groups and is located in the heart of Lily Dale. Other lodging on the grounds include the Leolyn Hotel, campgrounds, and several guest houses. Gate passes are not included in the occupancy rates, but can be purchased at the entrance or on the website at a later time.
