Southern Tier Brewing Company, located outside of the village of Lakewood, is the maker of more than 30 varieties of beer. This wide array of carefully hand-crafted beers includes ales, stouts, lagers and porters. In operation since the early 2000s, the brewery produces more than 100,000 barrels of beer annually and distributes to more than thirty states and points beyond.
The Empty Pint is the taproom at our state-of-the-art production brewery in Lakewood, New York. Our expansive outdoor beer garden is open seasonally. We offer a wide selection of cold packaged beer to go, along with growlers and crowlers of 14 draught beers, a gift shop, and killer pub fare. We’re here for beer, but our lunch and dinner menu is widely known for pairing perfectly with your beverage of choice. The Distillery is housed where the original Southern Tier Brewery was and our history runs deep within our walls. Our small batch spirits are unparalleled and held to the highest of standards. Why? Playing off Southern Tier Brewery’s The Empty Pint, soon the distillery’s The Empty Bottle was created. We began serving handmade cocktails following our guidelines of “farm to glass”. Original cocktails recipes were created with fresh squeezed juices, Southern Tier spirits, and old faithful, our taste buds. Order online.

Visitors enjoy a guided walk through of the brewery that ends with beer samples in the Brewhouse Tasting Room overlooking the primary production vessels. The Brewhouse Tasting Room is open to the public on Saturdays (serving beer flights) and is the endpoint of the Saturday tours. Featuring gorgeous views of the brewhouse and picturesque woodlands, the Brewhouse Tasting Room also offers visitors a small gift shop and growlers to go.
NOTE: Must be 21 years old to take the tour, no reservations, limit 18 people per tour. Arrive early for your best chance to reserve a spot. Tours sell out quickly. CLOSED TOE FOOTWEAR IS REQUIRED (no exposed toes, exposed feet, high heels, flip flops or sandals).
Group Planning Information
Looking for a place to host your next private event? The Brewhouse Tasting Room can accommodate up to 50 people and is available most Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays. To inquire about the space and catering options for your group, call for availability. Southern Tier Brewery can accommodate up to four buses with drop off at the front doors and parking behind the Distillery. Guided group tours are available and last around 45 minutes which offers a unique experience for beer enthusiasts and Southern Tier fans. The seasonal indoor/outdoor patio area and performance stage makes for a great Summer setting to enjoy a beverage or meal along with their stones course if you're up for a game.
