Nancy Marshall-Genzer (Senior Reporter, Marketplace) will deliver Chautauqua Institution's morning lecture in the Amphitheater on Monday, August 9, at 10:30 as part of the theme "The State of the Economy: Where Do We Go From Here?"

Marshall-Genzer is senior reporter for American Public Media’s “Marketplace,” a nonprofit news organization that for more than 30 years has been on a mission to raise the economic intelligence of the country. She opens the week’s discussion on “The State of the Economy” with an examination of what she’s seen on the ground during her reporting throughout the pandemic, and the economic moment we find ourselves in during the summer of 2021.

Marshall-Genzer reports on the intersection of Washington and Wall Street, explaining how decisions made in D.C. and N.Y.C. impact Americans’ wallets. She’s been senior reporter at “Marketplace” since 2006; over those 15 years, four presidential administrations and two recessions, she’s produced more than 1,500 segments on a wide-ranging swath of topics — from labor laws and the minimum wage to housing markets and financial policies. More recently, her reporting has covered COVID-19's economic impact on Americans.
