A. W. Anderson: Advertiser, Prohibitionist, Historian
Arthur Wellington Anderson was Jamestown’s City Historian from the 1920s through the 1940s. This man’s past is shrouded in mystery, having arrived in Jamestown in 1922 for unknown reasons. He worked as an advertiser, was involved in local prohibition activism, and then took an interest in local history, becoming one of the area’s most prominent historians in the early 20th century. Andrew Kolstee will tell his story.
