Whittier Apple Farm – A classic fall tradition, visit Whittier Apple Farm to browse the barrels of fresh-picked apples. There are varieties perfect for pies, applesauce, and snacking! Get some fresh-pressed apple cider, homegrown Concord grapes, and pumpkins while you are there.
Pumpkintown – Pumpkintown is the epitome of fall fun. There are hayrides, a pumpkin jump pad, a cow train, corn pit, apple cannons, and more. There are fall snacks to enjoy like doughnuts, apple cider slushies, kettle corn, and more. All the fun is outside so dress accordingly.
Panama Rocks Scenic Park– Be adventurous; explore a half-mile long ridge of 60-foot high rock forming crevasses, passageways, and small caves in an old-growth forest at Panama Rocks Scenic Park. Families and guests of all ages can explore together reconnecting with nature and make wonderful memories. Advance reservations are strongly recommended.
Axcellent Adventures Axe Throwing – Experience the rush of axe throwing at Panama Rocks' Axcellent Adventures attraction. Guests ages 12 and up are taught how to throw an axe in a safe environment. Advance reservation required. Separate admittance tickets required.
Double D.A.B. Riding Stables – Enjoy a beautiful horseback ride through miles of trails along the Lake Erie escarpment, stopping for the occasional lake vista. Trail rides, pony rides, sunset rides, lessons, and a petting farm make Double D.A.B. Riding Stables fun for most ages. Reservations are required.
Alpacaville – Bring the kids for a farm tour and visit the specialty store. Alpacaville has several alpacas, pigs, chickens, goats, and more. Visit during regular farm hours or request a private tour.
Audubon Community Nature Center – Five miles of paved trails at the Audubon Community Nature Center in Jamestown allow little outdoorspeople to burn some energy. Tour wetlands, a native tree arboretum, natural place spaces, and educational gardens. ACNC also has many events and programs scheduled this season, including the very popular Enchanted Forest. Chautauqua Belle – Take a fall foliage cruise along the Chadakoin River, Chautauqua Lake’s outlet. This old riverboat-style steamship is one of the last operable passenger cruisers of its kind in North America. Take a step back in time as you navigate the river, embarking on a leg of the journey that would have brought Victorian-era travelers to Chautauqua Institution and other resorts around Chautauqua Lake. The foliage will be brilliant this year. Capacity aboard the Chautauqua Belle is limited, as is the schedule so please book tickets in advance.
Leaf Peeping – Chautauqua County’s foliage turns from green to vibrant hues of yellow, gold, red, and orange each fall with peak color usually happening between early-mid October. Things can change quickly due to rain, wind, and even snow (!), so we never promise when peak foliage will occur.
