Hunting

Turkey, Deer, and Game

A diverse landscape and abundance of species make Chautauqua County an attractive destination for hunters. The region teems with whitetail deer and draws thousands of hunters each fall for bow, shotgun, and muzzleloader seasons. The eastern wild turkey thrives in forested areas throughout the county which consistently ranks in the top three counties in New York State for the spring turkey harvest.
